Pointy toed oxfords

Yep, another new pair of shoes.

These puppies were on sale for about 22.50 from Nordstrom Rack (in Oxnard, CA)
Lately since school has been so time consuming, as well as working on the weekends I am going to start doing shorter, more frequent posts and I have A LOT to share from all the (online) shopping I've been doing lately!

Stay updated Friends!!!!

Military Style

Hello!

I know, I know, its been WEEKS since my last post! Once again school has gotten the best of me, and every time I sit down at my computer I'm either reading the news or studying..with all this talk about taking potential military action in Syria, I honestly can't say what I believe would be best. With over 2 million Syrians displaced, and the UN confirming that the chemical weapons did in fact come from the government, it is obvious that someone needs to step in, but I also believe that this should include the United Nations, if not the world condemning the Assad regime and stepping in rather than the US acting alone..I'm sorry to bring this up its just my inner political scientists rambling once again, not to mention this is a huge international conflict! Do you guys have any thoughts on the issue?

Now on a different note! There's just something so effortless about throwing on a pair of camo or military style pants with a tank, a jacket with a LBD or chiffon dress that's just so easy...I know what your thinking, its just camo pants or just a military jacket but I love that these pieces can give a laid back, tomboy chic vibe without having to try so hard. I love that its an easy alternative to jeans or a jeans jacket, well an alternative to anything thats simple enough to switch up your look without looking too dramatic!

Here's some looks that I love and are so easy to recreate!

caving caVING CAVED

OH MAN! Has back to school shopping hit me like a rock! I mean, it's my senior year, I'll graduate in December but any excuse to buy for fall I'll take it!

Here's some recent purchases I've made literally this week from Zara!
(Up next, CottonOn, Urban Outfitters & Makeup Hauls)

Been obsessing over these for awhile now

Just gave away an old wrap sweater, time for a new one, here

Because one can never have too many black sweaters

Semi-cropped sweatshirt, yes please

Clearly I'm into comfort these days,
mixing up the black with this cream sweater

We'll see how this puppy actually looks when its on

Take me back to Big Sur

2 weekends ago the beau and I drove north on Highway 1 for 3 1/2 hours up to Big Sur for a little escape. And an escape it was! We got up there and camped out at Pfeiffer State Park, had little to no cell service which made this much needed weekend feel even more like an escape from the world. Every now and then it's so nice just to be able to unplug from everything surrounding us!

We found this beautiful little hiking trail right off the road, at first we drove past & I wondered why there were cars parked alongside the road, as I kept looking down the canyon I noticed a trail, curious as to what it was the beau & I made a swift u-turn, parked and meandered down this trail only to find these beautiful ocean views! Turns out this trail is called Partington Cove Trail

Post hike Bloody Mary & IPA for the beau

Eating the famous Ambrosia burger at the Nepenthe

WHERE TO EAT, SLEEP, HIKE-

Sleep:
If your planning on making a trip to Big Sur, I highly recommend booking your campsite in advanced, we were lucky to receive a first come first serve site, but they fill up FAST! These are sites that you can glamp at, okay, car camp but it makes it easy to not have to lug everything into your site.

I personally LOVE camping at Kirk Creek but beware, it does not have showers! However it doesn't get better than waking up to ocean AND mountain views! (take note, its also about 30 minutes away from the rest of Big Sur, where restaurants, the beach & lodging is located)

If campings not your thing, theres various lodges available here,  Deetjens is very quaint, while The Ventana and Post Ranch Inn are AHHHMAZING, they do fall on the pricier side!

If you are into 'packing in' there are some amazing trails to hike into that allow you to do so!

Eat:
Eat Breakfast or Dinner at The Big Sur Bakery (phenomenal wines & wood-fire pizzas)
Grab lunch at the Nepenthe, expect to wait 20+ minutes & request a table on the back patio
Grab a drink overlooking the ocean at The Ventana
Finish with a quiet dinner at Deetjens or splurge at Post Ranch Inn

Hike:
Various kid friendly, shady hiking options at Pfeiffer State Park
Down to the ocean (pics above) at Partington Cove Trail

If your looking for things to do, where to stay, what to eat, Big Sur has an amazing tourist website here!
